Executive Assistant to the Chief Scientific Officer\n\nLocation: Hybrid - Central London (2 days per week), Stevenage, Hertfordshire (1 day per week), Home-based (2 days per week)\n\nContract Type: Permanent, Full-Time\n\nSalary: Competitive salary plus excellent benefits package\n\nWe are delighted to be partnering with an innovative and growing Life Sciences organisation to recruit an experienced Executive Assistant to provide dedicated support to their Chief Scientific Officer (CSO).\n\nThis is a unique opportunity for a highly organised, proactive, and professional Executive Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working at senior executive level. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in optimising the CSO's time, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and enabling them to focus on key strategic priorities.\n\nTo be considered for this role, candidates must have recent experience working within the Life Sciences, Scientific, or related sector.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProvide comprehensive and proactive diary and calendar management for the CSO, ensuring effective prioritisation of commitments.\nManage and monitor the CSO's inbox, implementing and maintaining an effective email triage system.\nAct as a key point of contact, managing enquiries efficiently, prioritising communications, and proactively resolving issues to support seamless daily operations.\nCoordinate all aspects of internal and external meetings, including scheduling, room bookings, visitor management, and catering arrangements.\nOrganise complex travel arrangements, including transportation, accommodation, itineraries, and expense management.\nAttend meetings, prepare accurate minutes, track actions, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of deliverables.\nServe as the primary liaison between the CSO and internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders, fostering strong and effective working relationships.\nEnsure the CSO is fully briefed on upcoming commitments, providing timely updates and anticipating requirements ahead of meetings and events.\nCollaborate closely with Executive Assistants and Personal Assistants across the organisation to share best practices, improve processes, and provide support and cover when required.\nSupport and lead on ad hoc projects and additional responsibilities, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.\nMentor and support a PA/Administrator within the wider administrative team.Candidate Profile\n\nThe ideal candidate will possess:\n\nSignificant experience as an Executive Assistant supporting senior executives or board-level leaders.\nRecent or current experience within the Life Sciences, Scientific, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or related sectors.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\nExceptional organisational and time management skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication abilities.\nThe ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.\nA proactive, energetic, and solutions-focused approach.\nExcellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.Benefits\n\nIn return, our client offers an outstanding rewards package, including:\n\nHighly competitive salary\nAnnual performance bonus\nFlexible benefits package\n31 days annual leave plus bank holidays\nPension scheme\nLife assurance\nPrivate healthcareThis is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading organisation within the Life Sciences sector and work closely with a senior executive in a highly visible and influential role.\n\nPlease be aware this advert will remain open until the vacancy has been filled.
