Chelmsford - Full Time

Salary up to £40,000 per annum (with potential for bonus payments)

Since 2009 we have had a real focus on ensuring that improvements were made and embedded across our everyday practice. At the end of 2011 these improvements were recognised and endorsed by Ofsted.

It's an incredibly positive way to begin 2012 but it's not the end. We've made huge strides but still have much to do to achieve all of our goals. That just means we're more committed than ever to continual improvement. It also means that we listen to our people and value their input. So, as we continue to build on this significant step forward in transforming our service, you could have a big part to play.

Offering all the professional challenges and support you need, and would expect from a County spanning east London through to the east coast, you'll see that we're just as serious about your development as we are about our own.

We are currently looking for a Senior Practitioner who can lead on complex and difficult cases in one of our Chelmsford Assessment and Intervention Teams. It's a challenging mandate, involving empowering positive change within families, inspiring high standards from Social Workers around you, and shaping practice standards within the service.

At Essex, we believe that it's time for change. To redraw the lines. To see our profession differently. And to put your needs at the heart of our transformation. After all, if we can improve your working life by reducing caseloads, streamlining systems and providing greater flexibility - then you'll be able to focus on what you do best, improving the lives of more children and young people.

So we're looking for individuals who want to take ownership and accountability for transforming the lives of children and families. A professional with substantial post-qualification experience, backed up by PQ1 or equivalent and a detailed knowledge of current legislation, it will be your responsive approach to children and families and bold way of dealing with issues that will identify you as the right person to excel in Essex.

We're in the midst of a 4 year programme to deliver the best quality of life in the country while making the savings that will assure the county's future. Everyone has a role to play in empowering our communities and delivering excellent services.

Salary up to £40,000 per annum

We are currently looking for a Senior Practitioner who can lead on complex and difficult cases in one of our Children with Disabilities Teams in Chelmsford.

Are you a UK Graduate that knows a career in teaching is right for you?

Are you a Maths or English Graduate that could work with some of the most disadvantaged pupils in the UK?

If so, I may just have the right job for you…

***Large Essex Secondary School!!
***Maths or English Graduate Teaching Assistants!!
***One to One or Small Group work!!
***Earn up to £60 per day!!
***1 Academic Year contract!!

My client school is a larger than average mixed school, with fewer girls than boys. The majority of students that attend this school are from White British backgrounds, with a small number of students from a wide range of ethnicities making up the rest of the school population. The proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is below average. Nearly a fifth of students are eligible for free school meals; this is above average especially for this geographical area. The proportion of students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities is below average, although the proportion with a statement of special educational needs is above average. These difficulties are predominantly in the areas of behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, and in language or communication, including dyslexia.

After my meeting with the Head Teacher, it was clear that his main focus for the new academic year would be to raise attainment levels in English and Maths. By the end of Year 11, the standards students reach are below average. Given students' starting points - which were below average, particularly in English. Although students' progress in English was satisfactory, the school has rightly focused its attention on accelerating their progress in order to raise standards in this key subject.

In Maths, attainment levels have risen, but it is still a cause for concern. The Head Teacher would love to hear from Maths or Economics graduates that are keen to pursue a career in teaching.

You will be working with smalls groups of Key Stage 3 & 4 pupils running booster classes for pupils just need extra help. There is a possibility of One to One work for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a UK Graduate to really make a difference to some secondary aged pupils in Essex!

The school is a short 25 minutes drive or the closest station is served by the District Line, and the school is a short 8 minute walk.

To apply for this role, please send your CV to Alison at Edustaff without delay

Human Resources Officer

An HR generalist is required to join a large organisation in Chelmsford to assist in their HR function.
